The importance of taking joint measures to expand trade, economic and investment cooperation, the implementation of joint projects in the automotive industry, petrochemistry, energy and agriculture was emphasized.

Then Bakhtiyor Saidov received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation Oleg Malginov, with the parties exchanging views on the Uzbek-Russian relations in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas, focusing on the stepping up of economic diplomacy, including through the adoption of measures to further increase the indicators of trade, attract investment and implement joint projects.

Afterwards, Bakhtiyor Saidov hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey Olgan Bekar.

During the meeting, the parties discussed schedule and organizational aspects of upcoming joint events were, including regular meetings of the strategic planning group at the level of heads of foreign affairs agencies and the Uzbek-Turkish intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

On December 30, Bakhtiyor Saidov was appointed the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs replacing Vladimir Norov.
