On May 22, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar attended a joint Uzbekistan-Slovenia business forum in Ljubljana, the presidential press service said.
The event was attended by CEOs and executives of over 100 major industrial and commercial enterprises of the two countries.
Slovenian business was represented by KRKA, Duol, Emo Frite, Panvita, Medex, Tajfun Planina, Altado, UVC Solutions, Riko and many others.
Reportedly in 2024, the trade between Uzbekistan and Slovenia reached $175.7 million, which is by 60.3% more than a year earlier, and in the first quarter, the trade exceeded $127 million. The main items are services, finished textiles, chemical products, stone, ceramics and plaster products, furniture.
"We have set the goal of increasing the volume of two-way trade in the coming years by expanding the range and volumes of mutual deliveries of popular products. We are talking about the export of textiles, vegetables, fruits, mineral fertilizers, copper products, and industrial goods to Slovenia. In turn, we agreed to prepare programs for business cooperation in industries where our economies can complement each other," Shavkat Mirziyoyev underscored in his speech at the forum.
"Business is the engine of any progress. I want to assure every business leader: we have set the task of providing maximum preferences, co-financing, and allocating subsidies. We will make your business profitable, and we guarantee success," he said at the business forum.
During the forum, meetings were organized in the B2B and G2B formats, the press service of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Foreign Trade reported.
Business leader and government delegates exchanged a number of agreements and contracts in areas such as investment partnerships, pharmaceuticals, construction of urban infrastructure, production of copper products, storage and processing of fruit and vegetable products, development of railway infrastructure, construction of micro hydroelectric power plants and the electrical engineering industry.
