On December 1 in the Polish city of Lodz, Vladimir Norov held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, Jose Manuel Albarez Bueno.

The two foreign ministries discussed the current state and the ways to further advance the Uzbek-Spanish ties.

Vladimir Norov said that Uzbekistan viewed Spain a reliable and promising partner in Europe and welcomed Madrid's plans to open an embassy in Tashkent in the near future.

The parties commended the outcomes of the seventh round of Uzbek-Spanish political consultations in March this year and expressed their readiness to continue the dialogue in this format.

They also considered the specific proposals to increase the trade figures, step up direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries, implement joint promising projects, organize a visit of leading Spanish companies to Uzbekistan to explore the country's market opportunities.

In addition, the ministers exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the tourism, cultural, humanitarian and educational fields.
