Uzbekneftegaz has opened a new natural gas and gas condensate field in Romitan district of Bukhara province on the border with Turkmenistan, the company said.

Commercial inflow of natural gas and condensate was obtained at Tumaris gas condensate field during the testing of the first prospecting well from the Upper Jurassic deposits in the 2028-2020 m depth interval at the rate of 300-400 thousand cubic meters per day, the company added.

The reserves are estimated at 5.2 billion cubic meters (BCM) of natural gas and 131,000 tons of gas condensate.

Exploration works will be continued with drilling of the prospecting wells No. 2 and No. 3 to further explore the identified hydrocarbon deposits, Uzbekneftegaz specified.

Earlier, Uzbekneftegaz said it plans to spend US$ 3.9 billion that by 2022 to increase hydrocarbons production, forecasting an increase in natural gas production up to 53.5 BCM, gas condensate - 1.1 million tons and oil - 1, 9 million tons.
