Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev held talks with the Russian Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov via conference call.

The parties discussed the prospects for further development of trade and economic cooperation between the countries. In particular, the focused on the development of a comprehensive program of joint actions between the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation to expand industrial cooperation.

The program includes such industries as aviation, pharmaceutical, electronic, chemical, light industry, timber industry, automotive, specialized and railway engineering and engineering for the fuel and energy complex.

Denis Manturov noted that this was an important and systematic document that will determine the strategic areas of industrial cooperation between the two countries in the long term.

“10 industries have been designated as the main tracks of our cooperation, specific cooperation mechanisms and joint initiatives have been spelled out,” the Russian Minister emphasized.

Another important issue was the conduct of Russian business missions in Uzbekistan, in which Russian enterprises visit Uzbek production sites and negotiate with potential partners.

The parties also focused on holding the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM, which will be held in the spring of 2023 in Tashkent.
