An event dedicated to the 145th anniversary of Tashkent and Central Asian Eparchy, the 5th anniversary of the Central Asian Metropolitan District and the 25th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence was held in Tashkent on November 14, Turkistan Press said.
The number of Uzbek students at U.S. colleges and universities reached 530, a 7.8% increase from the previous year, with the total number of international students topping 1 million for the first time, paced by a surge of graduate students in sciences, engineering and math from India.
Turkish Art Gallery in Istanbul hosted an exhibition of works of Uzbek painters. The exhibition, co-organized by the Uzbek Embassy in Ankara with the City of Istanbul, features the paintings of Uzbek artists, in different genres - landscapes, naturemortes and portraits, and have caused genuine interest of the Turkish public.
The concert program includes works by Shostakovich, Williams, Caccini and Boyarskaya. The concert honoring the International Holocaust Remembrance Day is organized by the Embassies of Israel and Germany, and the Delegation of the European Union in Uzbekistan.
