As of April 1, the exports value of Uzbek textile firms topped US$ 455.9 million, despite the coronavirus pandemic having a serious negative impact on the world trade.

The enterprises of the industry are faced with export problems, hike in the delivery costs and timelines, the temporary closure of many shopping centers in countries such as Russia, China and Turkey, which are the main consumers of Uzbek textiles, Uztekstilsanoat said in a statement.

The statement noted that despite the existing problems, the export of textile and ready-made garments firms rose by 26% to the last thanks to the government’s support measures.
