The body of a 21-year-old Uzbek national, who went missing while swimming in a stream in Muğla's Seydikemer district, has been recovered. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The incident took place in Çobanlar neighborhood.
According to reports, 21-year-old Shoyadbek Khlimjonov, an Uzbek national, had left home to go swimming in the stream.
When his father was unable to reach him for an extended period, he went to the streamside to look for his son. Finding his son's clothes on the bank, the father alerted the 112 Emergency Call Center and requested help.
Following the report, gendarmerie, medical, AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority), marine police, and search-and-rescue teams were dispatched to the area. Divers from the Fethiye Coast Guard Command also joined the search effort.
After searching the stream, the teams recovered Shoyadbek Khlimjonov's lifeless body.
Following an on-site examination, the young man's body was taken to the morgue for an autopsy.
