Representatives of Uzbekistan won in two global categories at the Global Startup Awards Grand Finale, held as part of the EU-Startups Summit in Valletta, Malta. With representatives from more than 54 countries participating, this achievement marks a historic milestone for Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem.
Global Startup Awards is a major international platform that recognizes startups, founders, investors, and ecosystem leaders on a global scale, bringing together innovation ecosystems across 154 countries and 19 regions.
Based on expert evaluation and international community voting, Uzbekistan’s representatives were announced as winners in two categories: Rakhimakhon Nugmanova, founder of the Peritech startup, won the “Ecosystem Hero of the Year” nomination, while Catextra was named “Best Greentech Startup of the Year.”
This success became a logical continuation of the Global Startup Awards Central Asia regional final, held in Tashkent in September 2025 during ICT WEEK with the support of IT Park Uzbekistan. That regional stage opened new opportunities for Central Asian startups to enter the international arena and attract the attention of investors and ecosystem representatives.
Catextra’s victory in the Best Greentech Startup of the Year category shows that solutions created in Uzbekistan in the fields of environmental innovation, sustainable development, and green technologies are also highly relevant on the global stage.
Catextra is a platform aimed at promoting transparency, traceability, and responsible production in the textile industry. The startup provides manufacturers with tools to map, verify, and track every stage of the supply chain. This helps companies prove the origin of their products, the transparency of production processes, and compliance with ethical standards.
The recognition of Uzbekistan’s representatives in two global nominations at once demonstrates that local startups are capable of competing internationally and offering solutions to global challenges. This achievement once again highlights the potential of Uzbekistan’s market for investors, technology partners, and international ecosystem players.
