Uzbekistan had 122,700 registered electric vehicles as of July 1, 2026, the National Statistics Agency said in a report.
By comparison, registration numbers stood at 73,600 on July 1, 2025, marking an annual spike of 49,100 vehicles—a 66.7% surge within a single year.
A geographical breakdown highlights a sharp disparity in EV adoption across the country:
- Tashkent city: 88,496 units
- Tashkent province: 9,546 units
- Samarkand province: 4,870 units
- Khorezm province: 3,784 units
- Kashaadarya province: 3,045 units
- Fergana province: 2,442 units
- Navoiy province: 2,227 units
- Bukhara province: 1,963 units
- Andijan province: 1,607 units
- Republic of Karakalpakstan: 1,387 units
- Namangan province: 1,237 units
- Syrdarya province: 993 units
- Jizzakh province: 701 units
- Surkhandarya province: 429 units
Tashkent city overwhelmingly dominates the domestic green market, accounting for over 72% of all registered electric vehicles in the country. It is followed at a distant second and third by Tashkent province (9,546 units or 7.8%) and Samarkand province (4,870 units or 3.9%). Conversely, adoption lags behind significantly in three provinces where total EV registries have yet to cross the 1,000-unit threshold: Syrdarya (993 units), Jizzakh (701 units), and Surxondaryo (429 units).
