Uzbekistan manufactured 235,794 passenger cars across various models during the first half of 2026, the Statistics Committee reported.

This output represents an increase of 26,800 vehicles compared to the same period last year.

The Chevrolet Cobalt led production volumes, with 82,951 units rolling off assembly lines. The Damas followed in second place at 42,663 units, while the Tracker secured the third spot with 23,249 units. Other top-producing models included the Onix at 18,715 units and KIA at 15,184 units.

Production figures for remaining major brands and models were recorded as follows:

  • BYD: 13,405 units
  • Haval: 5,061 units
  • Chery: 4,384 units

The Chevrolet Damas Move recorded the lowest volume, with just 600 units manufactured. Production for all other miscellaneous passenger vehicle models combined totaled 29,582 units.

The production surge comes on the heels of global EV sales rankings showing China's BYD capturing the top spot worldwide, further highlighting the expanding footprint of Chinese automakers in the Uzbek market.
