During a presentation today regarding improvements to the telecommunications business climate and related matters, a proposal was put forward to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to develop a national navigation system.

It was noted that the country currently relies almost exclusively on foreign platforms for navigation and mapping. Implementing a proprietary national navigation system will enable the compilation of geographic data under a unified standard, while significantly improving the quality and organization of transport, logistics, emergency response, urban planning, and public utility services.

The briefing also addressed the launch of a unified national system for classifying goods and services. At present, customs, tax, statistical, and other regulatory agencies utilize entirely separate product classifiers. This fragmentation drives up operational costs for businesses, reduces the accuracy of reporting, and complicates interagency data exchange.

Introducing a unified national classification system will eliminate redundant bureaucratic hurdles for businesses, streamline data transfers between government bodies, and enhance the overall accuracy of statistical reporting.

Additionally, a proposal to deploy a unified digital platform for public administration was approved. This comprehensive network will aggregate data on regional economies, investments, environmental metrics, public safety, community issues, neighborhood prosperity levels, spatial data, infrastructure assets, and map layers onto a single, accessible platform.
