Uzbekistan has ranked 123rd in a global passport strength index. Global Citizen Solutions has released its Global Passport Index (GPI) rankings for 2026.
Nine of the world's ten strongest passports belong to European countries. The only other region to break into the top ten is Singapore, which claimed 10th place.
While the Henley Passport Index measures strength purely by the number of countries a passport holder can visit visa-free, the Global Passport Index takes a broader approach—factoring in travel freedom, investment appeal, and quality of life.
Among countries in the region, Kazakhstan leads the pack at 107th place, followed by Uzbekistan (123rd), Kyrgyzstan (127th), Tajikistan (140th), and Turkmenistan (144th). Afghanistan closed out the rankings at 197th. Uzbekistan posted individual scores of 129th for mobility, 89th for investment, and 119th for quality of life.
Sweden topped the overall rankings, placing 11th for mobility, ninth for investment, and second for quality of life.
Switzerland came in second, ranking seventh for mobility, second for investment, and 36th for quality of life.
Finland took third place, ranking fourth for mobility and 28th for investment—but first in the world for quality of life.
Germany rounded out the top four, placing 15th for mobility, 20th for investment, and third for quality of life. The Netherlands and Denmark completed the top five. Ireland, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Singapore also made the top ten.
