The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a comprehensive travel advisory for Uzbeks planning to travel to the United States, Canada and Mexico to support the national football team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Omonulla Fayziev, the Foreign Ministry’s spokesman, urged travelers to carefully review the entry regulations, visa policies, and immigration requirements of the host nations well before departure. He emphasized the importance of securing all necessary paperwork in a timely manner and double-checking document expiration dates.
While abroad, the ministry strongly recommends keeping physical passports and other vital documents in a secure location, while carrying both printed and electronic copies for daily use. Citizens are also requested to strictly comply with local laws, follow directives from law enforcement personnel, and adhere to standard rules of public decorum.
Furthermore, fans are advised to map out their transit routes in advance, rely strictly on official transport and information services, remain highly vigilant in crowded areas, and avoid participating in any unauthorized public gatherings.
In the event of an emergency, lost documentation, or other unforeseen difficulties, citizens should immediately contact local emergency services as well as Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions in the United States.
"We call upon all of our fans to show dignified support for the national team, and to maintain the utmost respect for the laws, public order, local traditions, and cultural values of the host nations," Omonulla Fayziev stated.
The ministry concluded by reminding travelers that any legal infraction carries personal liability. The agency noted that inappropriate behavior by a few individuals can severely tarnish the global perception of the Uzbek community and the country as a whole.
The Ministry reaffirmed that it remains deeply committed to safeguarding the security, rights, and lawful interests of Uzbek citizens abroad, and stands ready to provide emergency consular and legal assistance whenever necessary.
