The Chinor metro station will temporarily close for 50 days to undergo extensive modernization, according to a statement from the Tashkent Metro press service.

The station is set for an infrastructure overhaul designed to create a more comfortable, accessible, and contemporary transit environment for passengers.

Initiated under directives issued by the Deputy Prime Minister, the upgrade project will focus heavily on inclusivity and efficiency. Plans include expanding the station's main entrance and exit zones, as well as installing four modern, high-capacity elevators. These additions are specifically designed to assist elderly passengers, people with disabilities, and families with young children.

To ease congestion and improve overall passenger flow, engineers will also add 12 additional turnstiles. To guarantee public safety and maintain high quality control during these construction works, the "Chinor" station will shut its doors to passengers for 50 days, beginning June 13, 2026.

To minimize passenger disruption and maintain seamless transit connectivity on this line, authorities are launching a dedicated "metrobus" shuttle service between the Chinor and Yangihayot stations. These complimentary shuttle buses will run on a strict, high-frequency schedule to ensure commuters reach their destinations without major delays.

"We sincerely apologize for any temporary inconvenience this may cause," the Tashkent Metro statement read. "This initiative is focused entirely on upgrading our transit infrastructure, elevating our quality of service, and delivering a vastly superior and more modern experience for our passengers."
