Uzbekistan has lifted the restriction that limited physical and legal entities to importing only one vehicle per year for their personal or corporate needs. This change is outlined in a presidential decree issued on June 4, which focuses on improving management practices and streamlining public services within the construction sector.
The amendment modifies the 2017 General Technical Regulation on the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles Released into Circulation.
According to the updated document, vehicles are cleared for domestic circulation provided they meet the technical regulations. For sole vehicles (those imported for personal use), compliance is verified through a certificate of conformity, while other commercial transport requires a vehicle (or chassis) type approval.
Previously, a sole vehicle was strictly defined as transport imported no more than once per calendar year.
