In Pop district of Namangan province, a 23-year-old man has tragically drowned while vacationing with his family along the banks of the Chadaksay River. The incident occurred on May 28 when the young man decided to go for a swim. His body has not yet been recovered, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office confirmed, validating reports that had previously circulated on social media.
The district prosecutor's office is currently conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident. Search and rescue teams from the district’s Department of Emergency Situations have been deployed to locate the body.
