President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, currently on a visit to Turkistan, joined Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Friday to visit a newly constructed mosque built by Uzbekistan as a gift to its neighbor, the Uzbek leader's press service reported.

The sprawling complex spans over 7 hectares and can accommodate more than 5,000 worshippers. The architectural ensemble features four 70-meter minarets alongside a three-story main building housing the primary prayer hall and traditional aiwans (vaulted portals).

The surrounding 4.2-hectare grounds feature landscaped green spaces, walkways, recreational areas, illumination systems, decorative installations, and fountains.

According to the official statement, the architecture embodies the finest traditions of Islamic and Eastern design, seamlessly blending national motifs, Eastern domes, and towering minarets with modern engineering. The interior is adorned with intricate Islamic calligraphy and ornamental art.

During the visit, verses from the Quran were recited, and prayers were offered for the peace and prosperity of the brotherly nations of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
