From May 15 to 17, 2026, Tashkent will host Global Tech Weekend for the first time — an international technology movement bringing together startup founders, investors, engineers, experts, and representatives of the innovation ecosystem.
Over three days, the city will turn into a large-scale platform for ideas, networking, and discussions on the future of technology. More than 40 events will take place across different venues, including universities, accelerators, innovation centers, and cultural spaces. The event is expected to gather thousands of members of the tech community, along with 120 international and regional speakers.
Global Tech Weekend is more than a conference. It is a citywide platform that combines different formats, including expert sessions, panel discussions, investor meetings, founder talks, and community-led events for the startup ecosystem.
The event is organized in partnership with IT Park Uzbekistan and will become an important milestone for the country’s technology ecosystem. Hosting Global Tech Weekend in Tashkent highlights the growing role of Uzbekistan and Central Asia on the global innovation map.
One of the speakers at the GTW Tashkent 2026 Tech Festival will be Shamil Ibragimov, Research Director at the Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He brings more than 20 years of experience in public policy, innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurship development, and public sector transformation.
The festival will also feature international speakers such as Maxime Paradis from France, Founder and Managing Partner of United Founders, and Luciano Freitas from Brazil, Co-founder and CEO of Aftermoon Agency. Their participation will give attendees access to global perspectives on the future of startups, capital markets, and innovation ecosystems.
GTW Tashkent 2026 will take place in Tashkent from May 15 to 17. Applications are open until May 14.
