On May 8, as part of his visit to Moscow, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
At the outset of the meeting, the two leaders extended warm congratulations to one another on the 81st anniversary of the Victory.
The leaders discussed the ways to further expand and strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance ties between Uzbekistan and Russia. They focused on the implementation of agreements reached during previous high-level meetings.
Both leaders noted with satisfaction the steady growth in trade volumes and the successful execution of joint projects in sectors such as industry, energy, and metallurgy.
Special attention was given to ensuring the ongoing intensity of cultural and humanitarian exchanges. Additionally, the leaders exchanged views on pressing issues on the international agenda.
