On the afternoon of May 8, Uzbekistan is set to experience dry and very warm weather, with temperatures reaching between +34°C and +37°C, and climbing as high as +39°C in the south. The northwestern regions will be slightly cooler, ranging from +28°C to +33°C, Uzhydromet said.
Most of the country will remain dry on May 9. However, scattered showers and thunderstorms may develop in parts of the Bukhara, Navoi, Samarkand, and Jizzakh provinces during the second half of the day. Daytime temperatures across the board will dip to a more comfortable +28°C to +33°C.
In Tashkent, May 8 and 9 will stay dry. The mercury will hit +34°C to +36°C on May 8 before dropping to +30°C to +32°C on May 9.
A shift is expected on May 10, with rain and potential thunderstorms in the forecast. Daytime temperatures will cool significantly, settling between +20°C and +22°C.
On May 11, brief showers and possible thunderstorms will continue, with highs reaching +23°C to +25°C. Winds will shift from east to west at 3–8 m/s, potentially gusting up to 10–12 m/s. On May 9, residents in some parts of the capital should be prepared for localized dust storms.
