President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the International Forum on Peace and Trust in Ashgabat today. The event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, International Neutrality Day, and the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.

“Peace and trust are the foundation of universal well-being. Strengthening these values must remain a key priority for the entire international community,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev

"Uzbekistan is ready to continue making its constructive contribution to building a just and stable world order".

"The Turkmen model of permanent neutrality clearly demonstrates how the principles of respect for sovereignty and non-interference can harmoniously combine with active peacekeeping and diplomatic activities. We in Uzbekistan largely share the strategic vision and foreign policy approaches of our Turkmen brothers."

"For the New Uzbekistan, openness to the world, mutual respect, and a commitment to dialogue are fundamental values." "This is precisely why we launched the Samarkand Solidarity Initiative for the sake of shared security and prosperity. It aims to engage in dialogue all those who care about the future of humanity and who strive for peace, harmony, and sustainable development".

"We are convinced that only humanistic and inclusive approaches, based on mutual respect and understanding, can strengthen the fabric of modern international cooperation".

“The main priorities of Uzbekistan's upcoming chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement will be "encouraging the global movement in support of a culture of peace and non-violence, strengthening trust in relations between states through political dialogue, and promoting an atmosphere of tolerance, mutual understanding, and solidarity in the world."

“During its chairmanship, Uzbekistan plans to declare 2027 the Year of Preventive Diplomacy to support efforts to resolve conflicts in the interests of future generations”.

"In the current context of global tension and declining trust between states, maintaining a universal commitment to the principles of peace and mediation is more important than ever".

"The principles of mutual trust, respect, and unity also form the foundation of our policy to transform Central Asia into a space of peace, cooperation, and good neighborliness".

"Cooperation based on mutual respect, trust, and solidarity can realize the most ambitious plans. Therefore, it is crucial to advance them through humanitarian interaction".

“I propose organizing a joint international humanitarian forum, Dialogue of Cultures in Tashkent next year, with the participation of artistic groups, scientists, and writers, as well as launching a regional program, Youth for Peace and Trust, aimed at engaging the younger generation in strengthening peace and trust through joint educational, cultural, and volunteer initiatives.”

The forum, chaired by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, was attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye, President Vladimir Putin of Russia, President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, as well as heads of other states, governments, and international and regional organizations.
