On the night of November 24-25, environmental checks were conducted in Tashkent city and the Tashkent province, the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change.
During the checks, inspectors monitored businesses for compliance with emission standards, vehicles complying air pollution standards, and also promote environmental awareness among the public.
In Yukori Hasanbay neighborhood in Tashkent district inspectors found a greenhouse without pollutant capturing filter and have temporarily suspended the facility. A similar violation was recorded at another greenhouse in the Kir-Arik neighborhood in same district. Administrative violation sheets have been issued against owners.
The city's Department of Ecology shared photographs of tires found in greenhouses; they were being used as fuel.
One-time environmental checks are often insufficient for ensuring long-term sustainability because environmental conditions are dynamic and human impacts are ongoing. Continuous monitoring and repeated assessments are essential for several reasons.
Many environmental problems, such as persistent pollution or gradual habitat degradation, develop slowly and may not be detected by a single assessment. Ongoing monitoring helps in identifying these chronic issues before they become critical. For businesses and industries, a single check only confirms compliance at that moment. Repeated audits and monitoring ensure consistent adherence to environmental laws and standards.
