A toddler girl drowned in a private kindergarten pool in Mirzachul district of Jizzakh province and died. The toddler’s mother, Nargiza Jumaeva told Kun.uz.
According to the mother, the incident occurred on October 24 at Mehrli Yulduz (Kind Star) kindergarten in the district.
"My daughter, Feride Khamroqulova, born on May 5, 2024, drowned in the pool. So far, no law enforcement officials have come to inquire. No one is commenting on the situation. They are trying to "sweep the case under the carpet", Nargiza Jumaeva added.
She added that she was a citizen of Kazakhstan and moved to Jizzakh province as a bride.
Kun.uz contacted a teacher at the private kindergarten to clarify the situation. She confirmed the situation.
“It happened when we were heading to the canteen. We go out for lunch after noon. She was with me at that time. She fled somewhere while I was putting on the other children’s shoes. Thinking that she had gone to the kitchen, I slowly took the other children to the kitchen. I found Feride in the pool, and while she was floating head down on the water, I picked her up. We provided first aid: we pressed her chest, our teacher came and put his hand in her mouth, and then we took her to the hospital. There are 26 children in my group, and I am the only one who looks after her. 23 of them came that day,” said Feride Khamrokulova’s teacher.
The girl started attending this kindergarten on October 3.
No official information has been provided on the situation so far.
