Explosion occurred at a gas station in Chust district of Namangan province on Saturday, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
The incident took place at 6:47 PM, with information about an explosion received on the territory of a closed gas station located in Birlik neighborhood. Three fire and rescue crews arrived at the scene; no fire broke out.
Fire safety rules were violated while relocating a 10-ton fuel tank resulting in an explosion. As a result, a worker engaged in welding work was killed. The causes of the incident and the extent of the damage are now being investigated.
