Russia supplied by 15% more gas to Central Asia, including Uzbekistan in the first eight months of 2025 than in the same period last year, announced the Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
According to Miller, the region's economies are showing strong growth, with their GDP projected to grow by 60% in the next five-six years. He noted that this growth would come along with an increase in demand for energy resources, in particular, natural gas.
Miller added that the projects implemented within the framework of Power of Siberia-2 would serve as a catalyst for further increasing supplies to the region. He emphasized that the development of these areas would open up new opportunities for Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, in ensuring sustainable energy supply and economic growth.
