The Samarkand city criminal court issued a verdict in the case of a terrific traffic accident in April of this year. The driver of a GM Lacetti, who struck eight pedestrians, has been sentenced to seven years in prison and has been disqualified from driving for three years.
The accident occurred on April 11 at approximately 8:00 PM on Rudaki street. The car struck a group of people crossing the street. As a result, a woman crossing the street with her three daughters died. The children, along with other injured people, were taken to the hospital.
The court found the driver guilty under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code (Violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation regulations by a driver, resulting in death).
