Officials of the Uzbek Consulate General of met with Abdullah bin Abdurahman Ismail, chief of the Jeddah and Mecca Department of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development of Saudi Arabia.
The parties discussed cooperation in the field of labor migration, legal hiring of Uzbeks, establishing contacts with employer companies, and other issues.
The Saudi official noted that the number of Uzbeks temporarily employed in the regions of Jeddah and Mecca was very small.
The parties supported the proposal to hire Uzbeks for seasonal jobs in Saudi Arabia. In particular, they decided to review the issue of recruiting Uzbek butchers during the Hajj season and also for construction and engineering jobs in Saudi Arabia.
They also decided to organize an online meeting with the participation of officials of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development of Saudi Arabia, employer companies, the Consulate General of the country, and the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment of Uzbekistan to further discuss hiring seasonal workers.
