The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Chairman of the DOD of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Dai Houliang in Beijing, the presidential press service said.
Reportedly, China National Petroleum Corporation is one of the largest global energy companies that implements high-tech oil and gas upstream and downstream projects both in China and overseas. The company's market capitalization stands at over $200 billion.
During the meeting, the parties commended that CNPC's direct investments in Uzbekistan had already exceeded $5 billion.
The parties reviewed plans to expand the portfolio of investment projects with the Chinese company and promote underground natural gas storage, infrastructure modernization projects, and implementing modern metrological standards and innovations.
CNPC, through a joint venture with Uzbekneftegaz, built a section of the Central Asia-China gas pipeline, and is now involved in the development of the Mingbulak oil field and a number of gas condensate fields in Bukhara province. In 2024, it began modernizing the Bukhara Oil Refinery.
