President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the US Special Envoy for Global Partnerships Paolo Zampolli, the presidential press service said.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the ways to expand the Uzbek-American strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation.
Reportedly, the first meeting of the Expanded Dialogue of Strategic Partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States will take place this fall.
The parties added that effective cooperation has been established between the countries in the areas of security, the fight against terrorism, extremism and illegal migration.
The bilateral trade in 2024 increased by 15%, with the project portfolio surpassing $ 11 billion.
Delegates from over 100 major American companies attended in the Tashkent Investment Forum in June.
The parties stressed the great potential for advancing cooperation projects in the field of mineral resources, aviation, electrical engineering, agriculture, digital technologies, finance, innovation, education and other priority areas.
They emphasized importance of deepening regional cooperation within the C5+1 format.
Previously, Uzbekistan and the United States had held the Strategic Partnership Dialogue annually. In total, four rounds were held, the last one was held in November 2024. During it, the parties discussed the production of critical materials and expressed intention to continue diversifying trade and investment, promote agricultural reforms in Uzbekistan, expand economic opportunities for women, jointly address climate change issues and support the transition to clean energy.
