86.3 thousand Uzbeks were employed in more than 17 countries in 2025 H1, the press service of the Legislative Chamber said. The Milliy Tiklanish party, together with the Committee on Labor, Healthcare and Social Affairs, held an expanded meeting on August 21 dedicated to labor migration and ensuring the rights of countrymen abroad.
Quotas for labour visas were increased following talks with 17 countries, 22 international organizations and diplomats. Within the framework of organized labor migration, 211 thousand new jobs with a salary of $ 1,500 and above were identified in the said countries, with labour migration deals signed with 129 large foreign companies.
According to the plan, 200 thousand countrymen will have been employed abroad before 2026, of which 86.3 thousand have now been employed. According to the Central Bank, international money transfers have grown to $8.2 billion in six months, a 27% year-on-year increase.
International training centers have been set up in nine provinces of Uzbekistan with the support of organizations in Germany, Japan, Korea and Bulgaria to prepare migrants for work abroad. Year-to-date, 45.3 thousand people have received professional and language training.
The attendees also discussed the work of the Xorijdaish.uz electronic platform, which provides social and legal services to migrants. Almost 2.5 million countrymen are registered on it, of which more than 1.5 million have received various types of assistance.
At the same time, problems have been identified. In the Surkhandarya province, 5,893 countrymen were registered as job seekers, in the Namangan province - 7,111, and in Tashkent in January-April, out of 12 thousand registered countrymen, 2,192 were employed abroad. This figure was only 18.3% of the annual plan.
At the same time, there are no accurate statistics in the Bukhara, Jizzakh and Navoi provinces.
