The project was commenced in November 2022. The $289 million project on over100 hectares was implemented by the Chinese CAMC Engineering.
The village has five main sports facilities. Among them is a 2,200-seat velodrome that meets the standards of the International Olympic Committee. It has a multifunctional surface and can also host table tennis and fencing competitions.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave directives to prepare a cycling development program for the provinces.
The 12k-seater stadium is designed to host competitions in 48 track and athletics disciplines, including world championships and Paralympic competitions.
The Water Sports Palace has two pools (25x50 m), diving (25x20 m), synchronized swimming and water polo. It was recently inspected by a delegation from the World Aquatics Federation, which confirmed its compliance with international standards.
In addition, complexes for game sports and martial arts have been erected, each with stands for 2,000 seats. They can host competitions in volleyball, basketball, handball, judo, boxing and taekwondo.
The Olympic town also has 15 open-air courts for football, volleyball, tennis, field hockey and track and field. The construction of a 400-bed dormitory for Paralympians and the Scientific and Practical Center for Sports Medicine is nearing completion.
All facilities are equipped with energy-saving technologies. Solar panels will be installed over the parking lots, the report says. The territory of the town is landscaped - trees that are already several years old have been planted here.
In December, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has withdrawn the hosting rights for the 2025 Asian Youth Games from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and awarded them to Bahrain.
