Law took effect on temporary travel bans for individuals involved in criminal cases. According to the law, if there is reason to believe that a person may leave the country and evade trial without good reason, court may temporarily restrict their right to leave the country — even if they are not under arrest.

Prosecutor, investigator or inquiry officer shall decide whether to apply this measure and file a petition to the court explaining the reasons. The court shall review the petition in a closed session no later than 8 hours from the moment it is received.

After consideration, the court issues a ruling either to temporarily restrict the right to leave the country or to refuse to apply it. A complaint or protest can be filed within 48 hours after the decision is made.
