Today in Tel Aviv, the Uzbekistan-based company Expert One and the Israeli international gemological organization GCI Gemological Centers signed an agreement to set up a joint venture, Dunyo News Agency said.
The GCI Gemological Centers Uzbekistan joint venture will be stationed in Tashkent and will become the first GCI branch in Central Asia.
Headquartered in Tel Aviv, GCI specializes in examination, certification and training in the field of precious stones and diamonds and is one of the world's major centers of diamond trade.
The new center will provide a full range of gemological services - from laboratory assessment of the authenticity, quality and characteristics of precious stones to their certification according to international GCI standards. In addition, it is planned to launch educational programs to train specialists in this field.
