Social activist Saodat Abduzakirova reported on a 15-year-old girl who was admitted to the Angren Children's Hospital with a high temperature and serious injuries.
According to her, a year ago, when the girl was 14, she was abused by a relative, and six months ago the girl was gang raped by young people - one of them a minor, three others - aged 20 to 24.
As a result of the injuries, the girl was hospitalized in February. Her condition periodically worsens, and she returns for treatment. As Saodat Abduzakirova said, after the gang rape, the girl developed an abscess at the sites of the ruptures.
The physicians passed the information to the police, and a criminal case was opened. According to the investigator, the investigation is in the final stage. A comprehensive examination is planned, after which the case will be transferred to court.
Meanwhile, Saodat Abduzakirova emphasized that the defendants in the case showed at the crime scene what and how they did to the victim, but stated that the girl allegedly agreed to sexual intercourse. After the rape, the girl was threatened that they would "bury her alive" if she told anyone about it. According to the activist, the defendants have lawyers.
Saodat Abduzakirova also talked about the girl's family. She grew up with her grandmother, her mother, according to the activist, leads a "lifestyle for herself", her father is not listed in the birth certificates, he is currently working in Russia. The girl studied at a specialized school.
According to Saodat Abduzakirova, doctors at the Angren hospital are making every effort to treat the victim. Now the 15-year-old child weighs 28 kg. For full treatment, the girl needs highly specialized specialists, the issue of her transfer to a medical institution in Tashkent is being discussed.
The activist stressed that a consultation would be held in the next two days to determine the treatment tactics. Saodat Abduzakirova added that the treatment issue was taken under control by First Deputy Minister of Health Elmira Basitkhanova.
The situation was commented on by the office of the Children's Ombudsman of Uzbekistan. They reported that the case in Angren was taken under control by the Children's Ombudsman and the National Agency for Social Protection.
The office specified that a criminal case on the fact of the rape of a minor was opened on May 9. The investigation is under the oversight of the Angren prosecutor's office.
Reportedly, the Children's Ombudsperson, within the framework of her powers, monitors the investigation of the crime and controls compliance with the procedural rights of the victimized girl.
Measures to protect and rehabilitate the child, in turn, are being taken by specialists from the local Inson social services center, said the officials of the Children's Ombudsperson. According to them, the girl was provided with psychological assistance, social consultations and a referral for a medical examination.
The girl is currently undergoing treatment in hospital with a diagnosis of bronchopneumonia and anemia.
