The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Jizzakh province today and got acquainted with the progress of projects in the Zaamin Technopark special industrial zone, the presidential press service said.
The Technopark on an area of 400 hectares was initiated by the president on June 27, 2023, where 31 investment projects valued at a total of $ 1.2 billion are scheduled to be implemented with Chinese investment.
During this period, the necessary infrastructure was created and production facilities were built, and where the first enterprise has recently been launched - a concrete products plant worth $ 10 million, launched by the Chinese company Xinjiang Honglin Tiandi creating 60 jobs.
The president was also briefed about the completion of construction work on the second project - the Midea manufacturing plant, where 300 thousand units of household electrical appliances are designed to be manufactured per year. The investment volume is estimated at $ 42 million, with 150 new jobs to be created.
A total of 9 projects have been placed in the technopark within the first stage. Currently, construction work is ongoing on 7 more projects with a total value of about 300 million dollars. It is planned to establish production of building materials, metal structures, electrical and chemical products in the technopark, as well as create logistics and educational and training centers.
After the implementation of all planned projects, the technopark plans to manufacture industrial products worth about 5 trillion soums, develop 15 new types of products and export products worth 70 million dollars per year. In total, over 5,000 jobs will be created.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave directives to expedite the implementation of projects, provide investors with the necessary support, train qualified personnel and ensure employment for young people.
Within the second stage, 5 more promising projects have been created. Among them are the joint production of medical and security equipment with Longze Investment Group, as well as the production of laptops, tablets, servers and routers together with Foxit.
In addition, it is planned to implement projects for the production of leather and sports footwear, construction materials, porcelain tableware and chemical products.
The total value of these projects is about 250 million dollars. All projects will produce products with high added value, with about 70% of the goods planned to be supplied to foreign markets.
If in 2018 only 18 million dollars of foreign investment were disbursed in the province, then by the end of last year this figure surpassed 1 billion dollars. Over the past eight years, 3.7 billion dollars have been invested in the province, with over 4,000 industrial enterprises commissioned, and the number of enterprises with foreign capital has exceeded 260, the presidential press service concluded.
