The State Security Service and the Interior Ministry uncovered two cases of illegal religious education of children in the Tashkent province, the press service of the State Security Service said.
Reportedly, the lessons were taught by two unemployed men, aged 21 and 43. The first taught 31 children in a Zangiata district home, and the second taught 12 children in a home in Tashkent district.
The State Security Service added that not only these men had been held accountable, but also the children's parents, under the Failure to perform child-rearing responsibilities charge.
Recently, several cases of illegal religious education of boys and girls were reported in the Fergana province. In one case, a 28-year-old man gave religious lessons to 28 children in a center that was not supposed to provide such education.
