Uzbek government delegation led by the Director of the Migration, Behzod Musaev, and the Deputy Foreign Minister, Olimjon Abdullaev visited Qatar on January 23-25.
During the visit, the delegation held meetings with Qatar's Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al-Thani; the Director of the Consular Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Abdullah Saeed Al-Subaiey; and the Director General of the Migration and Passport Service of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al-Ateeq Al-Dosari.
Qatari officials voiced interst in hiring skilled Uzbeks in key sectors of Qatar's economy, including healthcare, oil and gas, hospitality, and services.
Discussions covered key issues such as providing support to Uzbek citizens temporarily working in Qatar, ensuring the creation of decent jobs and favorable working conditions, simplifying visa issuance processes, and safeguarding their legal rights and interests under Qatari law.
As part of the visit, a cooperation agreement was signed between Uzbekistan's Migration Agency and Qatar’s Jusur recruitment company. The agreement will pave the way for skilled Uzbeks to get opportunity for employment in Qatar’s healthcare, the oil and gas, hospitality, and services sectors.
