Beakbad city criminal court issued verdict to the police officer who beat to death a man in the Bekabad city police department’s building.
Firdavs Muradullaev, 33, worked as a local inspector of the Bekabad city police department from January 2022 to July 1, 2024. He, being an official of a law enforcement agency, abused his official powers.
On June 19, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., brothers Dilmurod and Dilshod Yusupvaliev were forcibly taken from the Bekabad city court building to the Bekabad city police department due to their resistance to the lawful demands of the police officers, where Dilmurod Yusupvaliev was beaten to death.
Firdavs Muradullaev did not plead guilty in court. He stated that the initial investigation body had issued an incorrect indictment, that he had not beaten Dilmurod Yusupvaliyev, that it looked like he had kicked him in the camera, and that he had hit Dilshod Yusupvaliyev to bring order, and apologized to the victims' families and expressed his readiness to compensate for financial and moral damages.
Firdavs Muradullayev's guilt was confirmed by the testimonies of witnesses and other evidence.
By court verdict, Firdavs Muradullayev was found guilty under Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim charge (Art. 104), Intentional infliction of slight bodily harm charge (Article 109), and Exceeding or abuse of official power (Art. 206) of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to 9 years in prison in a general colony.
