The president Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting in Minsk Friday.

He underscored that Uzbekistan "fully" felt the negative impact of the protectionism and sanctions policy, disruption of trade and logistics chains and reduction in investment activity of its partner countries.

"Further expanded and enhanced ties with the EAEU countries - our natural and traditional partners - is one of the priorities of our foreign economic policy," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to him, four years of the observer-state status, Uzbekistan's international trade with the EAEU countries has increased by 80% reaching $18 billion in 2024.

He stated that he deemed it necessary to expedite the expert check of Uzbekistan's proposals aimed at simplifying procedures and bringing together systems of technical regulation of trade operations.

"We are seeking to join the digital system of technical regulation and the ecosystem of digital transport corridors of the EAEU, the Eurasian Reinsurance Company. This will significantly facilitate the conditions for our business, provide favorable conditions for mutual access to commodity markets," Shavkat Mirziyoyev continued.

He also proposed a separate program covering e-commerce, digital labeling of goods, the creation of new-generation logistics platforms, and the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies in specific industries.

"I would also like to underscore the possibility of Uzbekistan's participation in a single integrated information system of checkpoints. This will primarily speed up border crossings, ensure the effectiveness of monitoring and transparency of all procedures. From the technical side, we are ready to actively participate in such projects," he emphasized.

In the food security, it is important to combine efforts in developing measures to expand opportunities for cooperation between agricultural producers, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said: "We are talking primarily about the implementation of our initiative to adopt the Program of agricultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EAEU countries, which provides for thw implwmwnting advanced technologies, simplification the movement of agricultural goods, effective functioning and expansion of the "green" corridor,". In case of support from the EAEU countries, Uzbekistan will also join the integrated platform "Work without Borders" launched within the organization, he concluded.
