The Embassy of Switzerland in Uzbekistan proudly announces Swiss Days 2024: Quality. Innovation. Reliability., scheduled from November 23 to 27 at the Hyatt Regency Tashkent and at Tashkent City Mall.
With the participation of more than 30 Swiss companies, this annual event strengthens business ties between Uzbekistan and Switzerland while promoting culture, art, and education.
Breathe With Me: A Unique Art Installation at Tashkent City Mall
Swiss Days will officially commence with the opening of BREATH WITH ME, an immersive art installation by Swiss artist Annabelle Schneider. Previously showcased at design events in New York and Barcelona, this installation explores mindfulness and sustainability, offering an artistic lens on sustainable living. Curated in collaboration with Inessa Boltyanskaya, the exhibit runs from November 23 to 26 in the Tashkent City Mall atrium.
Initially created for NYCxDESIGN, the installation has earned global recognition for fostering spaces of calm and reflection. Its tranquil atmosphere is enriched by soundscapes from Swiss musician Luc Augier.
Significantly relevant to Uzbekistan, Schneider’s work highlights ecological issues like air quality and the Aral Sea’s desiccation. The installation incorporates poufs inspired by traditional Uzbek ikat patterns, crafted by La Maison Du Tchapan, blending ancient cultural motifs with modern design. “This installation emphasizes the universal need for tranquility, especially in regions facing ecological challenges,” explains curator Inessa Boltyanskaya. “It illustrates how thoughtful design can unify global and local contexts, inspiring reflection and action.”
Visitors can engage with this dynamic space through sound therapy, meditation sessions, and immersive experiences promoting mindfulness and inner balance.
“Switzerland: Quality. Innovation. Reliability.”
On November 26, Swiss Days continues with workshops and business sessions aimed at fostering collaboration between Uzbek and Swiss businesses. The agenda focuses on critical sectors, including:
- Water Resources and Agriculture
- Healthcare
- Education
- Infrastructure and Urban Development
Approximately 20 Swiss companies, including global leaders, will share their innovative solutions to support Uzbekistan’s progress.
Complementing these sessions is the Against the Current exhibition at Hyatt Regency, showcasing Swiss contributions to sustainable water management and innovative approaches addressing water security and agricultural challenges in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.
“For 13 consecutive years, Switzerland has been ranked the most innovative country in the world according to the Global Innovation Index,” noted Konstantin Obolensky, Swiss Ambassador to Uzbekistan. “As Uzbekistan rapidly develops, investments in infrastructure and services must prioritize solutions that remain durable over time—hallmarks of Swiss quality. The Swiss Days offer a platform for such exchange.” Swiss Days will conclude on November 27 with the Swiss Private Education event, featuring 13 leading private schools. Organized by the Swiss Private Schools Association, the program includes:
- Education Fair
- Lectures on Swiss Educational Practices
- Panel Discussion: How to Cultivate a Love for Learning and Reduce Screen Time in Children, led by Philippe de Korodil, Director of CollègeChampittet.
- Swiss Learning Excellence Award Ceremony, recognizing contributions to education in Switzerland and Uzbekistan
