Nine people are suspected of kidnapping and raping of an eighth-grade student in Koshrabat district of the Samarkand provinces, eight of whom have been detained, the spokesman to the Prosecutor General's Office, Khayot Shamsutdinov said.

The outrageous case was reported on November 13 by the anti-violence project Nemolchi.uz. The girl was kidnapped on October 23. Her relatives called the police after she was lost. The schoolgirl was found only on November 6, with signs of violence on her body.

She said that she was beaten, forced to drink alcohol and illegal substances, held against her will and raped. At the time of that publication, all the alleged suspects, including one employee of the prosecutor's office, were at large. project noted that all the authorities that were obliged to provide support and protection to the girl approached their case unprofessionally and with many violations.

Khayot Shamsutdinov confirmed that during the pre-investigation probe, which began after receiving the call on November 6, the involvement of the officer of the Koshrabat district prosecutor's office in the case was confirmed. According to him, on October 30, the man was sacked from the prosecutor's office by order of the provincial prosecutor.

Following the pre-investigation check, forensic and biological examinations, , the Ishtykhan district prosecutor's office opened a criminal case on October 31 under Part 3 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code - Satisfaction of sexual desire in an unnatural form with the use of violence, threats or taking advantage of the helpless state of the victim in relation to a person under 18 years of age. The case was then sent to the police.

During the investigative and operational actions, nine suspects were identified, they were brought to the investigation. Eight people, including a former employee of the prosecutor's office, have been detained in line with the procedural procedure. Measures are being taken to detain the last person.

The Prosecutor General's Office has reportedly taken the supervision over the investigation of the criminal case.
