Refurbishment has commenced of the second entrance of the Tashkent subway Chilonzor line's Milliy Bog (tr. - National Garden) station. Photos and videos of the refurbishment work surfaced online.
The press service of the Tashkent Metro unveiled the plans to refirbish the second entrances of five stations - Milliy Bog, Mashinazozlar, Uzbekistan, Gafur Gulom and Yunus Rajabi.
In early July, the subway authorities reported that the stations whose second entrance was closed were commissioned 30-40 years ago (except for Yunus Rajabi, which opened in 2001) without the necessary work being completed. Taking into account the increased demand for subway travel in 2023, the subway took the initiative to open these entrances. The government of Uzbekistan gave permission for the work.
The Tashmetrotrans design institute developed projects to open all closed entrances and submitted them for state examination. The projects were then put out to tender to award a contract. It was reported that the work would be performed in phases and would begin in August.
