From August 1, numbers of license plates will be assigned randomly. This is stated in the resolution of the government of Uzbekistan dated July 17.
The license plates will be automatically generated through the State License Plates module of the Interior Ministry’s e- system of the traffic police department.
Now license plates shall be issued in ascending order, with the exception of pretty numbers letters and numbers, which will be sold through an auction, as before.
A number of drivers who recently received license plates for their cars said that the license plates were generated automatically through inspectors’ tablets. “The number automatically appeared on a board, with noone knowing what the number would be,” one source said.
According to the resolution, from December 1, it will be possible to apply for vehicle registration and license plates through the traffic police department’s mobile app, the official website of the service, a call center or the Unified Government Services Portal (my.gov.uz) and make payments there.
Separate license plates for emergency vehicles, electric motorcycles, mopeds and scooters were adopted with the same resolution.
