According to the results of 2023, the average monthly salary before tax in Uzbekistan topped 4 million 551 thousand soums, growing by 17.2 percent to the previous year, the Statistics Agency said in a report.
Note: The report did not include salaries in the defense, police, customs, State Security Service, prosecutor's office and court employees, as well as salaries of employees in small businesses and agriculture sector.
Breaking down by provinces, the highest average monthly salary was recorded in Tashkent city (7 million 453 thousand), Navoi (5 million 887 thousand) and Tashkent province (4 million 526 thousand).
The lowest salaries were recorded in Namangan (3 million 310 thousand), Kashkadarya (3 million 367 thousand) and Surkhandarya (3 million 379 thousand) provinces.
The data of 3 million 101 thousand employees were used to calculate the average monthly salary in 2023. While, 37.7% of them were from education, 18.3% from industry, and 16.9% from healthcare sectors.
The top average monthly salary by trades:
· finance and insurance - 13.3 million soums;
· ICT - 10.6 million soums;
· transportation and storage - 6.9 million soums;
· industrial sector - 5.6 million soums;
· construction - 5.2 million soums;
· trade - 4.9 million soums;
- hotels, reaturants and bars - 3.9 million soums;
· art, entertainment and recreation - 3.7 million soums;
· education - 3.1 million soums;
· healthcare and social services - 3 million soums.
