Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, is implementing a project aimed at developing a national platform and a mobile app for air quality monitoring in Uzbekistan.

National air quality standards in terms of fine particles content in the air and their impact on public health will be developed as part of the project.

In 2023, a survey of the level of morbidity from air pollution in Surkhandarya, Bukhara, Khorezm provinces and the Karakalpakstan autonomy will be launched.

In recent years, the level of air pollution has been increasing. The amount of dust in the atmospheric air of Tashkent exceeded the maximum permissible concentration by 1.3 times.

Meanwhile, January was the most polluted month according to the scale of the IQAir site in 2023, according to the data of automatic air pollution monitoring stations in Tashkent city.

According to WHO recommendations, air pollution is dangerous for health and causes stroke, cardiovascular disease, respiratory system diseases and lung cancer.
