Power outage occurred at the Tashkent Airport at 22:09 Sunday due to an accident at the city's Qoyliq substation, the press service of Uzbekistan Airports said in a statement.
Reportedly, within a few seconds, power was restored from backup sources to the facilities providing flights: runways, air traffic control facilities, radio navigation equipment. Thanks to this, there were no flight delays at the airport of the capital.
The arrivals terminal and the domestic terminal were also immediately switched over to backup power sources. Within 15 minutes, at 22:24, the power supply was restored at the departure terminal of international airlines.
At 22:40, the accident at Qoyliq substation was eliminated and power was fully restored at the airport.
