The Afghan leadership is pursuing a policy course that contributes to strengthening security not only in the country, but also in the region, and there are no threats to the countries of Central Asia from the territory of Afghanistan.

This was stated by the official representative of the Taliban movement, Zabihullah Mujahid, commenting on the words of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu that radical groups entrenched in Afghanistan were the main threat to security in the region, TASS reported.

“Russian government officials should understand that over the past two years there has been no security threat from Afghanistan to the countries of the region and the whole world, and, be that as it may, the security forces of the Islamic Emirate were able to defeat the remnants of ISIS in Afghanistan with full determination”, Mujahid said in a statement.

He noted that Afghanistan not only ensured security and stability in the country, but also "contributed to security and stability in the region with its economic-oriented foreign policy."

The Taliban spokesman stressed that Kabul had not been allowing anyone to use the territory of Afghanistan against other countries and "expected that other countries, especially those located in the region, would not allow those who have destructive intentions to enter Afghanistan."

“Unfortunately, we must say that the recent incidents in Afghanistan were committed by citizens of some countries in the region,” Mujahid said, calling on the authorities of these countries to “perform their obligations.”

In March, the Taliban announced the detention of Tajik citizens who, according to them, were involved in a terrorist attack against the governor of Balkh province, who died in a suicide bombing.

Russian officials of various levels have long been trying to intimidate Central Asian governments of the presence of various threats from the territory of Afghanistan.
