The new Uzbek Ambassador to the United States of America, Furqat Sidiqov, presented his credentials to the US President Joe Biden on May 1, the ambassador announced on his Twitter page.

“I am eager to enhance the friendship and collaboration between our nations and further strengthen our Strategic Partnership,” he said.

Furqat Sidiqov assumed the duties of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States in early April. Previously, he (since November 2022) had served as First Deputy Foreign Minister. The Senate approved his candidacy for the post of ambassador in early March.

He replaced in this position Javlon Vakhabov who had worked as Uzbek ambassador since 2017.
