President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on August 20 creating a Namangan free economic zone (FEZ) in Chust district of Namangan province.

For three days, Tashkent is hosting an international conference to promote conservation agriculture in this corner of the world, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan Railways completed the Electrification Of Karshi-Kitab Rail Section Project, the company said in a statement. The 124 km line was modernized and electrified, with surrounding safety metal frames installed. Also new stations were built, the existing ones were reconstructed, and another two bridges and 20 artificial structures were built.

Uzbekistan Airways (NAC) will starting from October 28 launch the Tashkent to Jeddah twice a week passenger flights, the company said. This will the first ever direct regular flight that will connect Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia.
